Events and festivals 2025
Events through the year are a massive part of French culture and the Charente has plenty on offer. As customary in the Charente, everything is usually accompanied by food, wine and of course Cognac!
We have named just a few, which are arguably the most prominent ones but there are other national and regional ones , also celebrated in Jarnac, Cognac and the surrounding area. Contact us to discuss whats happening for your holiday dates and recommendations.
Cognac Blues Passions
The annual outdoor music festival starting in Jarnac and moving to Cognac cannot be missed and has been going for more than 30 years. The dates are the 2nd - 5th July. Final line up is yet to be announced but Santana, Chris Isaak, Iggy Pop, Simple Minds, Gregory Porter amongst others have played in the past. Wow!
The towns are just buzzing around this time of year.
Bastille Day - 14th July
Jarnac is the place to be to celebrate the annual 14th July celebrations. The entire town is pedestrianised with restaurants offering special menus and music followed by the unbeatable musical firework display on the banks of the river Charente. Trust us it’s breathtaking!

Cognac Festival
Originally started by the local Cognac producers, this is now a three day festival to celebrate all things Charente! Sample the amazing drinks and local produce and then sit back and listen to some fabulous bands. A perfect evening out!

Le Marathon du Cognac
Celebrating it’s 24th year in November 2025, this is not just for the runners but an amazing day out for everyone! Starting and finishing in our lovely town of Jarnac, there is a also a half marathon and fun run. A race, not just unique in its beautiful countryside but also that there are Cognac producers along the way!
2nd weekend November 2025
Classic car weekend festival in Angoulême
A classic car extravaganza, known as “le circuit des remparts” with a car race around the ramparts of this beautiful city on the final day with lots of festivities throughout!
Jarnac also plays host to a procession on the weekend with Kevin usually taking part.
